Through the appropriation of everyday objects Billy McGregor's work questions traditional materials and processes of making. He manipulates objects, playing with the idea of the ready-made, whilst creating sculptural work with formalist qualities. Although manifesting as playful, his work conceptually challenges perceptions of art. It is the banal turned bizarre, often described as 'humorous yet melancholy'.
